CALF 2023 ORDU INTERNATIONAL SUMMER MUSIC ACADEMY GENERAL INFORMATION
CALF 2023 The International Summer Academy will be held at Ordu University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts.
Dates: The Summer Academy will start on Sunday, August 27, 2023 with the arrival of the participants in Ordu and will end on Sunday, September 3, 2023 with the departure of the participants.
ORDU: Ordu province, which is the gate of the Eastern Black Sea Region, is a very beautiful city with its natural beauties, vegetation, bays and beaches, endless plateaus. The 60 km coastal section of Ordu province, which has a 100 km long coastline, consists of sandy beaches. With this feature, it has a different structure from other Black Sea provinces. The fact that the region is covered with mountains and forests, its rich flora and tranquility are considered as an attractive feature for visitors.
Categories: CALF 2023 The International Summer Academy will be held in the categories of Violin, Viola, Cello and Piano.
Study rooms: Lessons and Masterclasses will be held at Ordu University Faculty of Music and Performing Arts. Every teacher will have private classroom to teach. There are 50 practice rooms available for students. Additionally, there are 6 Multipurpose Halls that will be used for masterclasses and concerts. The Multipurpose Halls are equipped with air conditioning, a projector and screen, internet access, and an HDMI port. Each classroom is equipped with at least one music stand.
Accommodation: Students attending the summer academy will be hosted at Ordu University Guest House. Accommodation is included in the course fee. Address: Cumhuriyet Yerleşkesi PK 52200 Altınordu / ORDU
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in the university cafeteria. Three cours of meals are included in the course fee.
Arrival and departure: There are several flights from Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir to Ordu. All students will travel to Ordu on their own expenses.
Domestic Transportation: A shuttle service will be provided from the airport to the University campus. Travel for concerts and sightseeing events during the week will be provided by CALF.
Piano: There are 8 acoustic pianos in the university to be used for masterclasses, concerts, piano lessons and studies. If necessary, digital pianos can also be used for activites and lessons.
Digital library: All participants are obliged to send the music (solo and accompaniment parts) which they will study or play during the course should be sent as digital PDF format to info@caka.info maild address until July 31, 2023. These material will be saved in the course digital library for study purposes.
Faculty: The faculty will consist of 12 teachers. Teachers are named in alphabetical order as Ani Schnarch (violin) Cem Babacan (piano) Cihat Aşkın (violin) Çağdaş özkan ( piano) Dilbağ Tokay (çello), Elena Ünaldı ( viola) Gonca Görsev Kılıç ( keman) Itzhak Rashkovsky ( keman) Muzaffer Serdar Şener (luthier) Ozan Sari ( violin) Özgür Ünaldı (violin) and Sevil Ulucan Weinstein (violin).
Active Participants: Active students will take part in 4 individual lessons, a masterclass and at least one concert performance. In addition, Masterclasses will be open to all active and passive participants and some activities for touristic and recreational purposes will be added in to the program. The fee for active students is 600€.
Passive Participants: Passive students will not be able to attend individual classes, however they will be able to listen to Masterclasses, concerts and other educational events, ask questions, be involved in all kinds of activities that do not fall within the scope of professional practice. The fee for passive students is 200€ and the price does not include accomodation and food
Pre-Registration: Participation in the summer academy is limited to a certain quota. Within this framework, the participant must pre-register. In the pre-registration stage, each participant is required to send a you tube performance video link to the academy secretariat. With this video, the front-back photocopy of the identity card and the signed consent of the parent if he/she is under 18 years old should also be sent. The deadline for pre-registration is 15 July 2023. The fee of €50 will be charged for pre-registration.

Admission: Pre-registered applicants will have their final registration between 15 and 31 July. Final registration will also be available for candidates who have not pre-registered. However, there will be no quota priority for those who does not have pre-registration. Prre-registration fee is not refundalble. The list of participants for the course will be announced on 1 August 2023. Participants admitted to the course with final registration will receive a course ID card via QR code (a digital corporate identity card). Promotional activities: There will be promotional activities of CALF 2023 International Summer Academy on social media and press channels. Each student who has accepted or applied to join the Academy agrees to participate in the promotional acitivites.
